What is an AAHA Accredited Animal Hospital?

At South Sacramento Pet Hospital, we are proud to meet the rigorous standards set for service and care by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).

What is AAHA Accreditation?

The AAHA is the only organization that accredits veterinary practices in the United States and Canada.

In order to become accredited by the AAHA, a pet hospital must be evaluated on a variety of stringent criteria that encompass all aspects of veterinary medicine—from the management of patient pain to team training and quality of record keeping.

AAHA accreditation is continuously updated and reevaluated to keep accredited hospitals at the forefront of the profession.

AAHA Guidelines

The AAHA has developed guidelines according to standards set by experts in the field. Their guidelines are frequently updated in accordance with the demands of a continually shifting industry and the medical profession to provide the best possible care.

Recommendations on the appropriate healthcare for cats and dogs are ever-evolving, and AAHA guidelines assist veterinary professionals with developing evidence-based protocols for cats and dogs in their practices.

The AAHA aims to provide the most current, non-biased guidelines on clinically relevant topics to the benefit of not only AAHA members and their patients and clients, but of the entire veterinary profession.
